My Participation in the International Conference for Upcoming Engineers - 2004

The International Conference for Upcoming Engineers (ICUE) is a conference composed of paper presentations by graduate and undergraduate students, design project demonstrations, tutorials, keynote addresses, industrial participation and social gatherings. The third annual conference for 2004 was held and organized at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.

I submitted an application to enter the headphone amplifier into the conference and I was happy to be accepted into the Design Demonstration category. Below are some pictures of the display table set up for the portable headphone amplifier, with some visitors in the background. At the conference there were many other students, professors, industrial representatives, and visitors of all ages. The contestants were from many other universities as well, not only those in the Toronto area. It was great to give visitors a demonstration of the amplifier and answer their questions as well.

To my surprise, after the conference I received a special invitation to a banquet and awards ceremony which was being held later the next evening. At the banquet Pocket Amp 1 was awarded "Best Design Project" for the ICUE. I was given a beautiful certificate and plaque which can be seen in the picture below.
